I've received a couple emails recently asking what they should expect during the first year after surgery.  I've included a photo showing progress over the first year after my initial surgery in 2012 followed by a photo taken several months later which clearly shows how the hair thickens over time.

I'm often asked about how quickly your donor area heals after surgery.  These two pictures are 14 days apart.  It's pretty amazing how quickly your existing hair grows and how quickly your scalp heals.

I'm often asked when new hairs will appear.  Of course...everyone is different but you can see my new hairs breaking the surface at the 11 week mark.

I often get questions about FUE scarring.  Dr. Vories uses a 0.8mm punch to remove the grafts.  I'm attaching this photo which was taken minutes prior to my second surgery in 2015.  You are looking at a donor area where about 1,750 grafts were removed in September of 2012.  As you can see, there is really no discernible scarring in the donor area.  I can't imagine why others choose FUT (strip surgery) and have to deal with a lengthy linear scar on the back of their head for the rest of their life....when they can choose FUE surgery with no visible scarring!

The crown area is one of the most difficult areas to cover.  This is how my crown area looked over time.  The final picture shows my head tilted back exposing the entire crown area.  With a normal head position people see a much fuller head of hair in that area.
