I'm posting pictures taken after my second surgery in February of 2015. These pictures are posted with the intention of showing you
how quickly your head heals. The first picture was taken 2 days after
surgery. The second picture was taken 14 days after surgery and the
third was taken just 26 days after surgery and the last picture is two months after surgery. I also had a hair cut just prior to the last photo. Also notice the hair growth
covering my donor area which healed very nicely. This donor area yielded over 1,750 grafts from the first surgery in 2012 and close to 1,000 for the second surgery.
On the Hair Transplant Network I'm often asked how quickly your head recovers after hair surgery. The photo on the left was taken the day of my second surgery. The picture on the right is just 17 days later!!! It's amazing how quickly your head recovers.
I get questions all the time from people on the Hair Transplant Network as well as my blog site. One question is.... How long will it take after my surgery before my hair grows out and hides the donor area?
I'm posting a picture from the same day of my SECOND surgery and one just 15 days later. My second surgery was 2,000 grafts and many of those grafts were taken from the same donor area after my first surgery two years prior. It's amazing how quickly your head recovers from surgery.
I often get questions about when to expect new hair growth after surgery. It's different for everyone but this photo was taken 8 weeks after my first surgery in 2012. You can clearly see new hairs breaking the surface and beginning to grow!!!
I recently received an email regarding what to expect about a year after surgery. I went back in the archives of my website and pulled up this picture group. My hair clearly has thickened even after the one year mark. Here's what I experienced in 2012-2013.
Successful hair transplant surgery???? You be the judge!!!!
My blog has now been viewed over 150,000 times! If you're considering a transplant, go to the archives section of my website (right side of screen) and look at September 2012 where I chronicle with pictures and narrative descriptions, each day of my journey and exactly what you will expect when you have your own surgery!
I haven't posted these pictures in a long time. The first picture was taken at the International Hair Restoration conference (Bahamas) five weeks after my surgery in 2012. The second picture was at the same conference three years later (Chicago). The surgeons examining me were amazed at my donor area and potential for another surgery.
Several people recently have contacted me and asked me how quickly your head recovers from surgery. I'm posting this video that was taken 4 weeks after my first surgery in 2012. The donor areas which included the left, right, and lower back side of my head provided over 5,000 grafts.
If you've ever wondered how long it takes before the new transplanted hairs begin to surface, this picture was taken just about 3 months after my surgery in 2012 (crown area). Everyone's growth cycle is different but 3-4 months is fairly typical.
Notice the new hairs popping through as well as a pimple or two which is also quite normal and expected.
